Apply Image
Apply Image blends a layer or channel with your image via a chosen blending mode, in a single calculation. It is an advanced command used a lot for frequency separation and complex masks. You work directly with channels through it.
Choose Image, Apply Image and select which channel or layer you want to blend, with which blending mode. For frequency separation you use it on a 16-bit file with Subtract to extract the fine texture from the image. Also handy for processing a high-contrast channel as the basis for a mask. Tip: this is advanced material, note your settings or save an action so you do not have to look up the steps every time.
