EIP file
An EIP file is Capture One's packaged file format, bundling the RAW, the edit settings and the metadata together in a single file. EIP stands for Enhanced Image Package. It makes moving or archiving a photo including all its adjustments easy, in one go.
Normally Capture One stores your settings separately from the RAW, but in an EIP everything sits neatly together. That's handy when sending a project to another computer or a colleague, because you can't lose a settings file. You can pack photos in a Session or Catalog into EIP and unpack them again later. Tip: use EIP for archiving and exchange, but feel free to work with separate files in active projects, that's a little faster.
