Radial mask

A radial mask limits an adjustment to an oval or round shape you draw over your photo. You use it to brighten a subject, create a local vignette or add a spotlight effect. The effect works inside or outside the circle, you choose.

Draw an oval around your subject and raise the exposure inside to draw the eye there, or reverse it for a vignette. The feather controls how softly the edge fades; keep it wide for a natural effect. Combine several radial masks for subtle light shaping in a portrait or still life. It's one of the fastest ways to add depth and focus.
