Basic panel
The basic panel is the most important panel in the Develop module: here you handle white balance, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks and the presence sliders. It's almost always where you start an edit. Most photos get a long way with just this panel.
Work top to bottom: profile and white balance first, then exposure for overall brightness, then contrast and the tone sliders for light and dark. With highlights and shadows you recover detail in the extremes without shifting the whole photo. The presence sliders (texture, clarity, dehaze, vibrance, saturation) add punch and colour. Tip: double-click a slider name to reset that slider to zero.
