History brush
With the history brush you paint an earlier state of your image back onto a specific spot. You pick a point in the editing history and bring it back locally. Handy for selectively undoing an effect.
Set a source state in the history panel and paint with the history brush where you want to return to that older moment. For example: apply strong sharpening to the whole image and then paint it back out on the skin. It works directly on the active layer, so use copies if you want to play it safe. Tip: these days you usually reach for a layer mask for most local corrections, it is more flexible.
