Multiply (blend mode)
Multiply is the blending mode that darkens your image by multiplying the layer's colors with those below it. White disappears completely, dark tones stay, and everything gets richer and deeper. Ideal for boosting shadows or blending in texture.
Set a layer to Multiply when you want to deepen dark areas without touching the light ones. It works beautifully for blending in a texture or a vignette, because the white of the overlay becomes invisible. Combine it with a lower opacity to keep the effect subtle. Tip: for dodge & burn, use Multiply to burn in specific areas on a separate layer.
