Screen (blend mode)
Screen is the counterpart of Multiply and instead lightens your image. Black disappears completely, light tones stay and stack up, making the whole thing glow. Perfect for blending in glow, lens flares or light.
Set a layer to Screen when you want to lighten without disturbing the dark areas, because black becomes invisible. It is the go-to mode for adding a light source, sparks or a sun glow from a separate layer. Play with opacity to get the glow just right. Tip: for the dodge part of dodge & burn, Screen works nicely to add light in specific spots.
