Confetti

Confetti is a preset for moments that are loud. Colourful, exuberant, a little chaotic. It amplifies what is already there: the energy of a celebration, the joy of confetti spinning through the air, the genuine delight on people's faces. No muted pastels, no restrained mood. This is colour you can feel.

Technically, Confetti pushes colours forward. Saturation increases, but not evenly across the board. Warm tones like red, orange and yellow gain more body, while cool tones like blue and green stay vivid without turning harsh. Contrast is sharpened in the midtones, keeping details in confetti, clothing and faces clearly defined. Shadows are lifted slightly, which stops busy scenes from becoming muddy. Highlights are not blown out, but they carry a gentle brightness that suits reflective surfaces well.

The preset works best on photos where colour is already doing something. Think carnival, children's parties, gender reveals, wedding receptions with confetti or flower petals, and street photography at festivals and outdoor events. Portraits where someone is surrounded by colourful props or a lively background also respond well. Neutral or grey backgrounds have less to offer here, and that is fine. Confetti knows what it is for.

You reach for Confetti when a photo already has the right ingredients but needs a push to fully land. When you scroll back through a set of party shots and sense the energy is there but the image does not show it yet. This preset helps make that energy visible. It is not a fix for flat photos. It is a boost for photos that already have something going on.

A practical tip: treat Confetti as a starting point, not a final answer. After applying it, check the orange and red channels separately in the HSL panel. In busy scenes, skin tones and warm clothing can occasionally become too saturated. Pulling those channels back slightly keeps the liveliness intact while making sure the image stays easy to read.
