Lover wraps your photos in a soft, dreamy light that feels like a warm summer evening you never want to end. Pastel pinks and lilacs blend together the way the sky glows just after sunset. The preset draws inspiration from the musical atmosphere of Taylor Swift: playful, romantic, full of feeling. Not over the top, not saccharine. Just that quiet magic you sometimes find on an evening that stays with you.

On a technical level, Lover pulls the highlights back slightly and lifts the shadows gently, creating an even, soft light that keeps the photo from feeling flat. The white balance leans warm, and pink and purple are introduced through the tone curves. HSL adjustments shift greens toward yellow-green and blues toward purple, so skies and backgrounds join in the mood. Contrast is kept intentionally low. Lover works with tone, not with drama.

This preset is strongest on portraits shot in natural light, especially during golden hour or just after. Garden parties, outdoor festivals, a spontaneous portrait with a soft background behind your subject. Flowers, bokeh lights and clothing in light or pastel shades all respond beautifully. On street photos with strong contrast or hard shadows it tends to struggle a little, unless you adjust the exposure in Lightroom first.

You reach for Lover when you want a series of photos to feel like they belong together. A wedding, an afternoon shoot with friends in the park, that one photo of someone laughing while the sun sets behind them. The preset does not require technically perfect shots, but it gives back the most when the photo already carries some warmth and softness in it.

One practical tip: Lover works best when your exposure is slightly on the brighter side. If your photo feels a little dark, bring the exposure up by a third to half a stop before applying the preset. That way the dreamy quality stays intact without losing detail in the shadows.
