Cool neutral tones, high key, fresh. The light that comes from the north and seems to come from nowhere. Clean and honest. Works best on light skin tones; on darker skin it can wash out — combine with slightly more exposure.

Character and mood
Scandinavian feels like a quiet February morning somewhere flat and grey. The light has no clear source. No hard shadows, no warm glow. Just a cool clarity that shows things as they are, without mood or decoration. That feeling is what this preset is built around.
Technically, the preset pulls colours towards neutral and cool. Warm orange and yellow tones are pushed back. Exposure is lifted into a high key range, giving images air and space. Contrast is present, but kept subtle, so highlight detail stays intact. Skin tones become paler, almost powdery. The whole image gets a cleaner, more restrained quality, without tipping into cold or detached.
The preset works best on images with plenty of light, soft backgrounds, and lighter skin tones. Portrait work in open shade or overcast daylight, street photography on a grey afternoon, architecture with white walls or concrete, landscapes with water or open sky. Scenes where the light is already neutral tend to fit the preset's character most naturally. On darker skin tones, the preset can wash things out, flattening detail and depth. The fix is simple: lift your exposure slightly before applying the preset, so there is enough tonal range to work with. A third or half a stop is often enough.
You reach for Scandinavian when you want a photo that breathes. When it is not about warmth or emotion, but about honesty. A moment that simply exists, without being made into something bigger than it is. The preset suits a style that is quiet, that leaves room, that does not push.
One practical tip: after applying the preset, nudge the tint slider two to four points towards green. That removes the last trace of yellow from skin tones and gives the image a slightly cleaner finish. A small move, but you will see it.
