Content-aware fill (Photoshop)

Content-aware fill automatically fills a selected area with matching pixels from the surroundings, so an object disappears seamlessly. In Photoshop you get a dedicated workspace where you can steer which source area is used. Ideal for removing distracting elements or clutter.

Make a selection around what you want to remove and choose Edit, Content-Aware Fill for the full workspace. There you use the green overlay to decide which areas Photoshop may use as a source, which makes the result far cleaner than a blind fill. Send the output to a new layer to keep it non-destructive. Tip: for small spots, spot healing is faster, for larger objects content-aware fill rules.
