Clone stamp tool

The clone stamp copies pixels literally from one part of your image to another, without adjusting color or tone. Unlike the healing brush, it does not blend, you get an exact copy. That gives you full control, even where healing falls short.

Hold Alt to set a source point, then paint the copied pixels onto the target spot. Use the clone stamp where you need to keep a hard edge or detail the healing brush would smear, like along a contour. Work on an empty layer with Sample All Layers, so it stays non-destructive. Tip: lower the opacity and build up in layers for a more natural result.
