Technically, the preset pulls highlights back slightly and lifts shadows just enough to keep the tonal range compact. Contrast is present but controlled. Saturation is reduced across the board, not to drain the image, but to keep it calm. Warm and cool tones stay balanced. The overall effect is a photo that looks lit from within rather than processed from the outside.

Capsule works best on images with strong geometry and clear surfaces. Architecture, minimal interiors, urban abstractions, and close-ups of concrete, metal or matte materials respond particularly well. Portraits in neutral settings also benefit, especially when the clothing is simple and the background stays out of the way. The preset reveals texture without drawing attention to it.

A practical note: adjust exposure on each file before applying the preset. Capsule performs well on correctly exposed RAW files, but if a shot is slightly overexposed, bring the highlights down to around minus twenty first. That small step keeps the preset looking consistent across different lighting conditions.
