Dream Field sits somewhere between a photograph and a memory. The tones are soft and pale, the kind of light that makes a scene feel like something you witnessed years ago rather than last weekend. It is not a heavily stylised look. It is quiet and considered, and it works precisely because of that restraint.

Technically, the preset pulls the highlights toward a bleached, almost paper-white tone while keeping the shadows open and slightly warm. Contrast is kept low to moderate, which means fine details like petals, grass stems, and seed heads stay visible without the image feeling sharp or clinical. Colours shift gently toward pastel, particularly in greens and yellows. Reds hold a little more saturation by design, so red flowers stay readable in the frame without competing with everything around them. The overall effect is light without being flat.

This preset works best in open landscapes with soft or diffused light. Flower fields are the obvious match, but lavender fields, coastal grasslands, meadows, and wide open countryside with few hard edges all respond well. Portraits taken in a blooming garden or on a field, especially with a soft background, can also work nicely. Scenes with deep shadows, strong directional light, or busy urban environments are less suited to this look.

You reach for Dream Field when the mood matters more than the detail. When a photo is about feeling rather than information. Early morning light, late afternoon haze, overcast spring days, these are the conditions where the preset finds its footing. It does not invent atmosphere. It draws out what is already there.

One practical tip: get your exposure right before you apply the preset. Dream Field is calibrated for correctly exposed RAW files. If your starting point is half a stop off in either direction, the bleached highlights and shadow detail will fall outside the intended balance. Set your exposure first, then apply. After that, a small white balance adjustment, pulling slightly warmer on overcast days, is usually all you need to make it land exactly right.
