Character and mood
Rose Haze wraps your photos in a soft, light pink warmth that feels less like an edit and more like a memory. Something slightly out of reach. Gentle. Quiet. The kind of atmosphere you find in old photographs or slow Sunday mornings. This preset does not announce itself. It settles in.
On a technical level, Rose Haze lifts the shadows gently, pushing the darkest tones away from pure black and toward a warm, faintly rosy hue. The highlights shift to a soft cream, which takes the edge off bright light and tends to be very flattering on skin tones. Contrast is deliberately lowered, not so much that the image loses structure, but enough to support that dreamy, hazy quality. The color grading leans toward pink and orange in the lighter areas, while the shadows retain a slightly cooler cast. That interplay between warm light and cool shadow is where Rose Haze gets its depth.
This preset works best with portraits shot in natural light. Think golden hour sessions in open fields, wedding photography on overcast afternoons, or lifestyle images taken near a bright window. Flower photography, softly colored still lifes, and romantic outdoor scenes also respond well to this look. Harsh midday sun or high-contrast outdoor photography is a less natural fit, the preset needs some breathing room to do what it does.
You reach for Rose Haze when you want a series of photos to feel like they belong together, not because they share a location or a subject, but because they share a mood. When you want a consistent, recognizable visual style across your portfolio or social media feed. Or when a photo is technically solid but still missing the tenderness you felt when you took it.
A practical note: after applying Rose Haze, adjust the exposure individually for each photo. The preset is calibrated for an average exposure value. Underexposed images can develop a slightly muddy pink cast in the shadows after applying it. A small correction of plus 0.3 to 0.5 stops of exposure usually fixes this right away.
Installation
Lightroom Classic & CC (desktop)
Unzip the downloaded file on your computer. Open Lightroom Classic and go to the Develop module. Right-click the Presets panel, choose 'Import Presets', and select the .xmp file. The preset appears in your list immediately and can be applied to any photo straight away.
Lightroom Mobile
Lightroom Mobile syncs presets via the cloud. Import the .xmp file into Lightroom CC on your desktop first. Once cloud sync completes, the preset is automatically available on your phone or tablet. An Adobe CC subscription is required for this sync feature.
Capture One
Unzip the file. Open Capture One and navigate to the Styles panel. Click the arrow next to 'Styles' and choose 'Import Style'. Select the .costyle file. The style is available in your library immediately. Works with Capture One version 21 and later.
DaVinci Resolve / Premiere Pro (3D LUT)
Copy the .cube file to your application's LUT folder. In DaVinci Resolve via Project Settings → Color Management → LUT folders. In Premiere Pro via the Lumetri Color panel → Creative tab → Look → Browse. The LUT works on both LOG and standard exposed video footage.
