ACES

ACES is a standardized color workflow that brings all sources into one common color space before you grade. So you work predictably, regardless of which camera or LUT is involved. It's especially handy when mixing footage from different cameras.

With ACES you tell the system what your source is (the input transform) and what your target is (the output transform), and the rest happens neatly in between. In DaVinci Resolve you enable it via your project settings, after which your grade takes place in a neutral, consistent space. The benefit really shows on large projects and HDR work. Tip: for a simple single-camera job a Color Space Transform is often enough, ACES pays off only with more complex workflows.
