Collections

A collection is a virtual group of photos in Lightroom Classic, independent of where the files sit on your drive. You drag photos into it to gather what belongs together, without moving or copying anything. One photo can sit in several collections without taking extra space.

Handy for bundling a shoot, a project or your portfolio without disturbing your folder structure. With a quick collection you set photos aside temporarily while culling. Collections are also the starting point for the Book, Slideshow and Print modules. Tip: create a collection set to organise your collections into groups, for example by year or client.
