Magic wand
The magic wand selects, in one click, all adjacent pixels of a similar color or tone. The higher the tolerance, the more different shades it includes. Ideal for flat areas like a plain sky or background.
Click a flat area with the magic wand and set the tolerance in the options bar to control how much color difference you allow. Uncheck Contiguous to grab all matching tones across the whole image at once. It works best on plain backgrounds, less so on busy photos. Tip: for a white studio backdrop the magic wand is often the fastest route to a clean selection.
