Vectorscope

The vectorscope shows color as a round graph: direction is the hue and distance from the center is saturation. The further a point sits outward, the stronger that color. It's the go-to scope for checking color and skin tones.

Neutral grey sits in the center, so the more your signal fans outward, the more saturated your image. There's a special skin tone line where healthy skin tones should roughly fall, a handy check for portraits. In DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro you find the vectorscope with your scopes. Tip: use it to spot a color cast, because that pulls the whole image lopsided toward one side.
