What exactly is included in a preset pack

A pack usually costs €17.99 or €19.99, against €3.99 for a single preset. That price difference raises an obvious question: what do you actually get for the extra amount, besides more files?

A considered series, not a random collection

The presets in a pack are not thought up separately from each other. They share a colour direction and a subject, like Zeezout for coastal images or De Meesters for styles inspired by great photographers. That makes the photos in a series match each other better than combining single presets from different sources would.

The same four strengths, per preset

Every preset in a pack comes, just like a single purchase, in four strengths: 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent. For a ten-preset pack that is forty files per format, which in practice saves a fair amount of work compared to arranging that yourself per preset.

Three formats, always

A pack also gives you XMP for Lightroom, .costyle for Capture One and .cube LUTs for video, per preset. So you never have to weigh up which format you need: it is all included by default.

When a pack is worth it

Do the math: a ten-preset pack works out to under €2 per preset, against €3.99 single. As soon as you would want two or more presets from the same style, the pack already pays off. Want just one specific look? A single preset is still the simplest choice.
