Technically, the preset lifts the shadows into a deep, rich brown tone while keeping the highlights warm and golden. Contrast is present but controlled: details do not disappear into black. Orange and red tones in skin and backgrounds are strengthened, while cooler colours step back. The result carries something of exposed film stock, Kodachrome in particular — saturated but not loud, warm but not orange-heavy.

Anne Laatmijnvis works best with portraits shot in natural or side light. Think of faces half in shadow, a jacket catching light against a dark background, a gaze that holds something back. It also performs well for reportage work in interior spaces: the warm tones fill hotel rooms, backstage corridors and living rooms in a way that feels familiar and lived-in. Street images with warm light, late afternoon or golden hour, also benefit from what this preset does.

One practical tip: adjust the exposure manually for each photo before applying the preset. Anne Laatmijnvis is sensitive to overexposed images — highlights can shift too yellow too quickly. Start with a slightly underexposed RAW file and let the preset handle the rest. That way you stay in control and get the most out of the warm tonal structure it builds.
