Character and mood
Sun linen feels like a late July morning with the windows open, light filling the room through white curtains. Calm, warm, unhurried. Not polished or edited within an inch of its life, just the kind of light you remember long after the day is gone.
The preset lifts highlights toward a soft, warm white. Shadows stay gentle, never crushed to black. Contrast is kept deliberately low, so detail in bright areas survives. Skin tones pick up a golden warmth without tipping into orange. Colors are quiet: greens shift slightly yellow, blues turn cooler and more muted. The overall effect breathes rather than punches.
Sun linen works best on photos with plenty of light or large bright surfaces. Portraits in a light-filled room, outdoor shots in soft diffused daylight, lifestyle images with linen, wood, and ceramics. Street photos in full sun also translate well, especially when white walls or open sky are in the frame. Images that are already dark or cold at the base will need manual adjustments before the preset can do its job properly.
You reach for Sun linen when you want a consistent look that feels warm and open without looking filtered. It fits summer reportage, outdoor portraits, and lifestyle content where a light tone carries part of the story. It works just as well on a single image that simply needs a little more sun in it.
One practical tip: before applying the preset, push your base exposure up by a third to half a stop in Lightroom. Sun linen is built for bright starting points. Give it that light to work with, and it will deliver exactly what the name suggests.
Installation
Lightroom Classic & CC (desktop)
Unzip the downloaded file on your computer. Open Lightroom Classic and go to the Develop module. Right-click the Presets panel, choose 'Import Presets', and select the .xmp file. The preset appears in your list immediately and can be applied to any photo straight away.
Lightroom Mobile
Lightroom Mobile syncs presets via the cloud. Import the .xmp file into Lightroom CC on your desktop first. Once cloud sync completes, the preset is automatically available on your phone or tablet. An Adobe CC subscription is required for this sync feature.
Capture One
Unzip the file. Open Capture One and navigate to the Styles panel. Click the arrow next to 'Styles' and choose 'Import Style'. Select the .costyle file. The style is available in your library immediately. Works with Capture One version 21 and later.
DaVinci Resolve / Premiere Pro (3D LUT)
Copy the .cube file to your application's LUT folder. In DaVinci Resolve via Project Settings → Color Management → LUT folders. In Premiere Pro via the Lumetri Color panel → Creative tab → Look → Browse. The LUT works on both LOG and standard exposed video footage.
