Clarity (Capture One)

Clarity in Capture One adds depth to your photo by boosting contrast in the midtones. The tool lives in the Clarity panel and offers four methods plus a separate Structure slider for fine detail. You'll find it under the exposure and contrast tab.

Push Clarity up for more punch in clouds, eyes or texture, or pull it down for a softer, dreamier look. The 'Natural' method is safe and preserves colour, 'Punch' gives a stronger effect and 'Neutral' is the most restrained. The separate Structure slider handles the very finest detail, independent of Clarity. Tip: ideally put Clarity on a layer with a mask to avoid halos around contrast edges such as a horizon.
