Layer nodes
Layer nodes stack edits like layers in Photoshop, where the top node overrides the one below. Order decides what you see, because the top layer wins. They give you control over how edits cover each other.
In DaVinci Resolve you use layer nodes when you want the stacking behavior of layers, with blend modes between levels. Unlike parallel nodes, which blend equally, here you genuinely place one edit on top of another. This is especially nice when building a look with opacity control. Tip: keep the number of layers limited, because too many stacks make your grade hard to follow.
