Serial nodes
Serial nodes sit one after another in a straight chain: the output of one node feeds into the next. Each node builds on the result of the previous one, like steps in a recipe. This is the default way you grade in DaVinci Resolve.
Use a serial chain when your steps logically follow each other, for example correct first, then a look, then a vignette. The downside is that a change early in the chain carries through to everything after it, so order matters. Tip: put edits that don't need to affect each other in parallel instead, it keeps your chain tidy. For a calm, layered grade, serial nodes are often just right.
