Character and mood
Mountain Meadow is a preset built around one feeling: the freshness of a summer afternoon in the Alps. The kind of light that makes green grass look almost impossibly bright, where wooden chalets seem to glow, and wildflowers hold their colour without effort. This preset captures that moment and makes it stay.
Technically, it lifts shadows just enough to open up texture in dark wood, rocky surfaces, and foreground detail, without flattening the image. Highlights are pulled back to preserve sky and cloud structure even in strong midday sun. The colour grading shifts greens toward blue-green, nudges yellows to a warm neutral, and keeps reds grounded in nature rather than boosting them. Contrast is present but controlled, adding depth without drama. The result is a photo that reads as bright and open, not overprocessed.
The preset works best with images that have plenty of green, natural light, and open space. Alpine meadows with wildflowers, timber chalets set against summer sky, hikers on mountain trails, grazing animals in wide landscapes. Environmental portraits work well too, especially when green vegetation fills the background. It is less suited to overcast or foggy conditions, and it is not designed for interiors or urban settings.
You reach for Mountain Meadow when you want a consistent, summer-bright look across a set of Alpine or mountain images. It fits travel photography, family shoots in nature, and lifestyle work in outdoor settings. It also works on a single image that just needs a cleaner, more coherent finish. The preset does its job without announcing itself.
One practical tip: after applying the preset, adjust the exposure slider to match your specific shot. Mountain Meadow is calibrated for average daylight conditions. If your image contains large light areas, such as snow, pale clothing, or overcast sky, lower the highlights a little further than the preset already does. That keeps the detail in the bright areas while holding on to the freshness that makes this preset work.
Installation
Lightroom Classic & CC (desktop)
Unzip the downloaded file on your computer. Open Lightroom Classic and go to the Develop module. Right-click the Presets panel, choose 'Import Presets', and select the .xmp file. The preset appears in your list immediately and can be applied to any photo straight away.
Lightroom Mobile
Lightroom Mobile syncs presets via the cloud. Import the .xmp file into Lightroom CC on your desktop first. Once cloud sync completes, the preset is automatically available on your phone or tablet. An Adobe CC subscription is required for this sync feature.
Capture One
Unzip the file. Open Capture One and navigate to the Styles panel. Click the arrow next to 'Styles' and choose 'Import Style'. Select the .costyle file. The style is available in your library immediately. Works with Capture One version 21 and later.
DaVinci Resolve / Premiere Pro (3D LUT)
Copy the .cube file to your application's LUT folder. In DaVinci Resolve via Project Settings → Color Management → LUT folders. In Premiere Pro via the Lumetri Color panel → Creative tab → Look → Browse. The LUT works on both LOG and standard exposed video footage.
